Deezer aka how to listen music online for free

Often while i’m working i listen to music, especially rock but i listen everything except opera. My work computer has some music files on it but not many so i listen radios from time to time but i am not a big radio fan. In fact i want to listen what i like and not what someone else wishes to push out and promote. So i always wanted an online music jukebox that allows me to select the songs and has many, many if not all the songs that i like or i might like. And yesterday i discovered that place. It is called Deezer and it can play almost any song i want. And it is very user friendly. I can even create playlists. When i was really shocked by this site was when i discovered that it has not only the mainframe artists but also some local artists from here where i live. I bookmarked it right away and i hope that they will have success and funding to provide this great service.

Joost becomes a choice

For those who didn’t used it. What is Joost? Joost is a different way to watch online television or television in general. It is a software that delivers you television shows directly from the internet on a broadband connection, for free and legally! You can choose what channel want to view and what show you wish to see. It isn’t like Youtube because there are full length shows and the quality is much better. It isn’t like classic television because you can choose what you want to view and can even skip parts of the shows you aren’t interested in. There are some interactive ads in it but these ads aren’t as obtrusive as in classical television.

I started using Joost a couple of months ago when it was in closed beta and i wasn’t really a fan of it. Quality shows were rare and the overall quantity of the shows was a disappointment for me. But lately Joost is becoming a choice when i want to watch something to relax. If a few months ago there were some problems with speed, shows being streamed from internet, now i can watch a full documentary without any interruption. The number of shows increased, quality shows are all over the place and my favorite genres (Documentary, Travel and Adventure) are very well represented.

So if you want to watch something interesting and new, something you haven’t seen for a thousand times on classical television then you can try Joost.

How to watch almost any TV station online

Yesterday night i wanted to watch the CFR Cluj – Benfica Lisabona friendly match online which was transmitted by a recently launched TV station called Kanal D. As i do not have a TV or a TV tunner i started to search on the net for an online transmission. As i landed on the channel homepage i almost instantly realized that there will be no online transmission here.

So i started searching a solution. Google as always is the key to everything, after a few searches i found several different software packages that claim that deliver TV channels from all over the world. But unfortunately none of them had Kanal D in the channel list. I was almost there to quit when i found Sopcast. And there it was Kanal D broadcasted by one of the thousands of channels from Sopcast.

In essence Sopcast is a P2P software that allows anyone to rebroadcast anything over the internet. You can rebroadcast TV stations, movies from your computer, MP3′s and more. Kanal D was rebroadcasted by someone over Sopcast and i could finally watch the match.

But the story isn’t over yet. Today i had another sports event to watch – Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe at Nurburgring. Again i started searching and now the first thing i started was Sopcast. For the first time i didn’t find any indication of a Formula 1 broadcast in the thousands of channels. But as i hit refresh in the channel list several times … there it was. Formula 1 live from Germany.

Now i can say this for sure, for me classic television is dead.
